Major Duties What to Expect Serves as a member of the Operations Section, Executive Branch, Marine Corps Community Services, MCIEAST-MCB CAMLEJ and advisor to the Assistant Chief of Staff (AC/S), Deputy AC/Ss, and Operations Officer.
Schedules and coordinates visits, meetings, and itineraries.
Coordinates logistical requirements with the Regional Command Deck for conferences, meetings, and briefings.
Establishes and maintains correspondence/project files per required records management principles.
Participates in weekly AC/S staff meetings and provides minutes of same to all division directors and their administrative specialists.
As a member of the Operations Section, works on planning and execution of large-scale MCCS events.
Supervises Executive Branch Administrative staff to include:
assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, disciplinary actions, completing performance reviews, approves time, training employees.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
This position is designated Mission Essential.
In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (nature or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
Qualifications What are we looking for? Four years of related experience in administration and management.
One year supervisory experience required.
Knowledge of Marine Corps structure and chain of command required.
Must possess proven analytical ability in order to analyze and develop recommendations for improvement in MCCS administrative matters.
Ability to lead others in the accomplishment of work.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite including SharePoint and Teams.
Must demonstrate oral and written communication skills.
This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
