Duties include:
-Identify automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms -Clarifying description of problems - Educate clients about the company's products, services and offers -Conduct walk-around inspections -Check vehicle maintenance records -Examining service schedules.
-Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers explaining provisions and exclusions.
-Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor -Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and services required - Obtaining necessary approval signatures; -Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates, answering questions and concerns, arranging towing and/or temporary transportation, and providing adequate updates on vehicle status.
-Obtain accurate contact information - Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications -Use their expert knowledge to understand the client's problems and explain their needs to staff for satisfactory service delivery Must be willing to participate in in-house training and training required by the manufacturer.
Previous service writer experience is preferred but not required.
